Copying a Structure Multiple Times

If you want to copy a structure more than once at regular intervals along track, optionally including any attached wires and equipment, you can use the 'Multi-Copy' function.

Please note: Only single-mast structures (single track cantilevers, two track cantilevers, twin/triple cantilevers, self supporting anchors, and attachment points) can be multi-copied currently.

Step 1: Click the 'Multi-Copy' button in the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar

Step 2: Click on the structure you want to copy

This will open the 'Copy Structure' window.

Step 3: Select the number of copies you want, and their distance apart

Clicking the buttons next to the 'Count' and 'Distance Along Rail' boxes will adjust the values, or you can simply type the values into the boxes. Preview markers (shown below in pink) will appear illustrating where your copies will be placed.

Top tip: A positive 'Distance Along Rail' value will place the structures in the direction of increasing chainage, while a negative value will place them in the direction of decreasing chainage.

Step 4: Select the 'Name Increment' for your copies

For example, if your original structure is named 'WR-14-23' and you set a name increment of 2, your copied structures will be named 'WR-14-25', 'WR-14-27', 'WR-14-29' etc.

Step 5: Review the checkboxes

Select the properties and equipment you want applying to your copies.

Maintain Rel. Foundation Height: Adjusts the foundation height in-line with the change in HRL.
Copy Wires: When checked, any wires attached to the structure you're copying will be attached to the copied structures.
Alternate staggers: When checked, the stagger direction will alternate between structures.
Copy Equipment: When checked, any equipment attached to the structure you're copying will also be copied.
Alternate Push/Pull: When checked, the 'Push / Pull' setting for wire supports will alternate between structures.

Step 6: Select a secondary structure to copy

If you want, you can select an additional structure from an adjacent track to copy at the same time.

Simply click 'Select...', then click on the second structure you want to copy.

Copies of the secondary structure will always be placed in alignment with the preview markers.

Step 7: Click 'Confirm'

This will place your copied structure(s), including span & versine annotations between each one.

Please note, whenever a structure is copied, the foundation and mast bearings are reset to the default rotation of the structure type being copied.

Please note: When you copy a structure, if the secondary chainage is being used, it won't be copied or updated automatically. This is because values for secondary chainages can vary case by case.
