Using Selection View

Lineardraft allows you to view all elements connected with a specific wire or structure by highlighting them in your model. This can be particularly useful to achieve better visibility - for example, in instances where elements become cramped together.

To do so, follow the steps below.

Watch a video tutorial

Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Views’ section on the Lineardraft toolbar

Step 2: Click on the 'Selection' button

This will bring up the ‘Select a Wire or Structure’ prompt.

Step 3: Select a wire or structure

This will bring up the ‘Selection View’ window, which shows you what connected elements you can highlight for the selected wire or structure.

Step 4: Tick the associated elements you wish to inspect

This will highlight the elements of the selected type which are associated with that wire or structure.

Top tip: You can click ‘Save Settings’ on the ‘Selection View’ window so that every time you use this function in the current model, the desired elements are automatically ticked.

Step 5 (optional): Select a different wire or structure

You can do this by clicking the ‘Change’ button in the ‘Selection view’ window and selecting another structure or wire. This will allow you to view all ticked elements connected with the new selection.
