Edit Structure Window: Wires

The 'Wires' tab within the 'Edit Structure' window allows you to attach wires and equipment to a structure, edit existing wire points, and detach equipment and wires from a structure. The article below outlines the functionality of the 'Wires' tab.

If you would like to follow the full process for attaching a wire, adding equipment, editing a wire point, or detaching a wire from a structure, please see the linked articles.

  1. Attach: Click this button to attach an existing catenary or auxiliary wire to the structure. In the dialog that opens, you can select a wire from the drop-down, or click the locate button and click on the wire in your design. Once attached, the 'Edit Wire' dialog will open and allow you to attach equipment.
  2. Filter: You can filter wires attached to the structure by type using the buttons in the top of the tab. For example, clicking 'Catenary' will apply a filter so only catenary wires will be shown. Applying no filters means that all attached wires will be visible. You can also search for a wire by name.
  3. Detach all: Will detach all wires currently attached to the structure, and delete any associated equipment.
  4. Catenary wire point: Displays the wire name, the associated track name, contact wire height, system height, messenger wire height, and stagger, along with the wire support and wire support style if any equipment is attached. Clicking on this card will open the 'Edit Wire' dialog, allowing you to attach, edit, or remove equipment.
  5. Auxiliary wire point: Displays the wire name and wire height, along with the wire support and wire support style if any equipment is attached. Clicking on this card will open the 'Edit Wire' dialog, allowing you to attach, edit, or remove equipment.
  6. Detach: Allows you to detach the corresponding wire from the structure. This will also delete any associated equipment.
