Switching Between Lineardraft Versions

The version of Lineardraft used as a part of the Elevation Module Pilot Programme and the released version of Lineardraft Core cannot be installed side-by-side. This means you cannot have both versions installed on your machine at once. As a result, you’ll need to switch between the versions, in most cases this will mean uninstalling your current version of Lineardraft before installing the Elevation Module, and vice-versa.

The steps below outline how to manually uninstall and reinstall Lineardraft versions.

Step 1:  Close MicroStation and Lineardraft Desktop.

Step 2: Navigate to the Control Panel

You can locate your control panel quickly by using the 'Windows' key and typing 'control'

Step 3: Click 'Uninstall a Program'

Step 4: Locate and select 'Lineardraft' in the list

Make sure it is 'Lineardraft', not the plugins associated with it.

Step 5: Click 'Uninstall'

Step 6: Confirm you want to uninstall Lineardraft by clicking 'Yes'

Step 7: Open Lineardraft Desktop

You can do this by opening the 'Hidden Icons' menu on your desktop or searching in your 'Start menu'.

Step 8: Refresh your Lineardraft Desktop

Step 9: Install the version you need

You can do this by clicking the 'Install' button on the right hand side.

More info: The process can be repeated for switching back.
