To place a mid-point anchor (MPA) on a gantry, just follow these steps. Please note these instructions require you to have first placed a portal, created a catenary wire, and attached it to the portal.
Step 1: Navigate to the 'Wires' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click the 'Wire Manager' button
This will open the 'Wire Manager' window.
Step 3: If required, select the wire to be used in your MPA on gantry arrangement
The 'Selected Wire' may already be the one you need. If it isn't, simply click the 'Locate...' button, then click on the wire.
Step 4: Click ‘Edit’ next to the structure to which you want to add the MPA
In this example, the ‘LD-03-MPA’ structure has been selected. This will open the 'Configure' window.
Step 5: Click on the 'Support' drop-down and select 'MPA on Gantry'
Step 6: If required, adjust the 'Contact Wire' height to manipulate the system height
It is not possible to adjust the system height or messenger wire height directly for an MPA on gantry, as it is dictated by the height of the gantry. This is why you adjust the 'Contact Wire' instead. Click here to find out more.
Step 7: Tick the 'Equipment' checkbox
This will expand the 'Configure' window.
Step 8: Click on the available 'Gantry' followed by the 'Add SPS' button
This will open the 'Add SPS' window.
Step 9: Click on the 'SPS' drop-down and select the SPS you want
Step 10: Adjust the SPS position using either ‘Distance From Wire’ or ‘Offset from Support’
Step 11: Click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Add SPS' window.
Top tip: Once you've confirmed your SPS, a drop tube will be added automatically. To override the default drop tube position, follow this article.
Step 12: Click 'Add Bracket'
This will open the 'Add Bracket' window.
Step 13: Select the bracket you want from 'Bracket' drop-down and click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Add Bracket' window.
Step 14: Click the 'Item' drop-down and select the wire support you want
Step 15: Click the 'Style' drop-down and select the wire support style you want
Step 16: Click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Configure' window and confirm your selections. You can also close the 'Wire Manager' at this point.
