Adding an Anchor to a Structure

Follow the steps below to anchor a anchor to a structure.


Step 1: Click the 'Edit' button in the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar

This will open the structure selection window.

Step 2: Click on the structure you want to add an anchor to and click 'Edit'

Alternatively, you can select your structure from the drop-down menu. Clicking 'Edit' will open the 'Edit Structure' window.

Step 3: Open the 'Wires' tab

Step 4: Click on the wire point you would like to add an anchor to

This will open the 'Edit Wire' dialog.

Top tip: You can access the 'Edit Wire' dialog when you add a new wire, attach a wire to a structure or edit a wire point.

Step 5: Click the 'Support Type' drop-down menu and select 'Anchor'

The 'In-running' toggle will automatically be disabled, indicating the wire is 'out-of-running'.

Step 6: Enable the 'Equipment' toggle 

This will expand the 'Edit Wire' dialog, allowing you to attach equipment to the structure. 

Step 7: Click a 'Mast' so it is highlighted in the equipment editor

If the wire is attached to a portal you will be able to choose which mast to attach the equipment to.

Step 8: Click the 'Add Bracket' button

Alternatively, select an existing bracket from the equipment editor.

Step 9: Configure the  bracket 

Select a bracket style from the drop-down menu and review the 'Location' and 'Rotation'. Learn more about bracket locations here

Step 10: Click a wire support 'slot' 

Available slots will display in the equipment editor. 

Step 11: Configure equipment

Using the drop-down menus, select the wire support and wire support style you would like to allocate. If no equipment is available at this point, you may need to adjust the wire properties shown in the top-half of the 'Edit Wire' dialog.

Step 12: Click 'Apply'

This will close the 'Edit Wire' dialog and return you to the 'Edit Structure' window. 

Step 13: Click 'Update Structure' 

This will save your changes to your model and close the window.
