Self Supporting Anchor (SSA)

A self supporting anchor (SSA) is a structure that supports catenary wires and auxiliary wires for a single track. They typically consist of a mast and a foundation.

An SSA is similar to an STC, but due to the 90° rotation of the mast it can withstand the along track loading without requiring a backtie.
