Adding/Editing an Ornament

In Lineardraft, an ornament is an additional object which can be added to a structure and subsequently edited by following the steps below.


Step 1: Click the 'Edit' button in the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar

This will open the structure selection window.

Step 2: Click on the structure you want to edit and click 'Edit'

Alternatively, you can select your structure from the drop-down in the structure selection window. 

Clicking 'Edit' will open the 'Edit Structure' window.

Step 3: Click the 'Ornaments' tab on the left-hand side 

Step 4: Add or edit ornament

Click '+' to attach an ornament to your chosen mast, or gantry, or click on an ornament from the list  to edit an existing one. This will open the ‘Edit Ornament’ window.

Step 5: Configure the ornament

Type: The type of ornament you would like to attach, this list will only show ornaments applicable to the mast or gantry you are placing the ornament on.

Height/Distance: If attaching to a mast , sets height of the ornament, relative to HRL. If attaching to a gantry, sets the distance from centre of mast.

Location: Defines where on the parent item you would like to place the ornament. Some locations can be adjusted using the 'Height' or 'Distance' box, whilst some locations are limited. Learn more about locations here.

Rotation: Defines how the ornament is orientated on the parent item. The available rotation options are defined by the selected 'Location'.

Step 6: Click 'Finish'

This will close the ‘Edit Ornament’ window and your ornament will be visible in the list beneath the mast, or gantry you added it to.  

More info: If you’d like to delete any ornaments, simply click the trash can icon button to the left of the ornament you want to delete, or click the trash can icon at the top of the column to delete all. 

Step 7: Click 'Update Structure'

A loading screen will display, once the changes have been applied, the window will close.
