Bracket separation is adjustable for some cantilever arrangements. This process is the same for both single, twin, or triple brackets.
Step 1: Click the 'Edit' button in the 'Wires' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
This will open the 'Wire Selection' window
Step 2: Click on the wire point of which you want to change the bracket separation and click 'Edit'
You can click directly on the appropriate equipment or wire box annotation. Alternatively, you can select your wire and structure from the drop-down menus. Clicking 'Edit' will open the 'Edit Wire' dialog in the 'Edit Wire' window.
Top tip: You can also access the 'Edit Wire' dialog by clicking the 'Edit' button in the Structures section of the toolbar, selecting the appropriate structure, and accessing the 'Wires' tab to select the wire point.
Step 3: Click the ‘Customisation’ drop-down in the 'Wire support' sub-menu
This will allow you to customise the available options for your chosen cantilever style.
Step 4: Navigate to the ‘Bracket Separation’ field for your cantilever
This option may not always be called ‘Bracket Separation’ depending on the design of your chosen cantilever. For example, it could be called ‘Top Bracket Offset’.
Please note: If you’ve tried to use the 'Customise' button to adjust your bracket separation, and can’t find any options to do so, then submit a suggest a catalogue change request here.
Step 5: Change the value to your desired bracket separation
This can be done by using the ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons, or by typing in a value.
Please note: For cantilevers on twin or triple brackets, the bracket graphics will follow and display correctly for the cantilever that is attached at the highest vertical position.
Step 6: Click 'Apply'
This will close the 'Edit Wire' dialog.
Step 7: Click 'Update Wire'
This will close the 'Edit Wire' window and apply your changes to the model.
More info: If you need to adjust the bracket separation for other cantilevers on a twin or triple bracket, simply repeat these steps for all other cantilevers.
