Lineardraft views allow you to control how your design is displayed in a CAD viewport. How this works is slightly different between views, as described below.
Please note: View functions are applied to the current active view in your CAD application.
3D View
The 3D View turns on all 3D levels and turns off all levels associated with the 2D.
Step 1: Click the '3D' button in the 'Views' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click a structure you'd like your view to be centred around
This will turn on all levels associated with the 3D view and turn off all 2D levels.
The level of zoom you were using before changing view will be maintained and the display will be orientated to show the structure from an isometric viewpoint.
Alternatively, clicking anywhere else on the screen and the view will snap to display the smallest section of your design necessary to include all existing Lineardraft elements in it.
Plan View
The Plan View displays all associated 2D levels and turns off all 3D levels.
Step 1: Click the 'Plan' button in the 'Views' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click a structure you'd like your view to be centred around
This will turn on all levels associated with the plan view and turn off all 3D levels.
The level of zoom you were using before changing view will be maintained and the display will be rotated so that the selected structure’s track plane is positioned vertically.
Alternatively, clicking anywhere else on the screen and the view will snap to display the smallest section of your design necessary to include all existing Lineardraft elements in it.
All Levels
The 'All Levels' view displays your model with all levels visible. This means the 2D levels and 3D levels will all be visible at once.
Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Views’ section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click on the ‘All Levels' button
All levels of your model will now be displayed in your current view.
Top tip: To stop displaying all levels, select a different view function.
Structure Views
Structure views, also known as orthographic views, allow you to view different orientations of an individual structure in your design. You can select between Front, Back, Left, Right and Top.
Step 1: Click on your chosen structure view button in the ‘Views’ section on the Lineardraft toolbar
In this example we will select 'Front'. This will bring up the ‘Select a Structure’ prompt.
Step 2: Select a structure
Your view will immediately update to display the desired orientation of the structure, as seen in the image below.
Top tip: The view function will be applied to the current active view, but you can use other views to select structures.
