Follow the steps below to split either a catenary wire or an auxiliary wire into two new separate wires.
Step 1: Click the 'Split' button in the 'Wires' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
This will open the 'Split Wire' window.
Step 2: Click on the wire you want to split
This can be done in 3D or plan view. The selected wire must be attached to more than one structure. Alternatively, you can select a wire from the drop-down menu.
Top tip: Select a stagger symbol instead of a wire to skip Step 3. This will split your wire at the stagger symbol's associated structure.
Step 3: Click on a structure - this will indicate where to split the wire
Alternatively, you can choose a structure from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Choose if you'd like your wire to split before or after your structure
Step 5: Give your two new wires names
You can click the paste button to copy the original wire name to one of your wires.
Step 6: Click 'Split'
The window will close and your two wires will be saved to your design.
