Creating and Updating Saved Views

Lineardraft allows you to easily create saved views for the structures in a design. It is good practice to keep these up to date so they accurately show the positioning and dimensions of their respective structures.

Follow the steps below to create and update saved views.

Step 1: Click the 'Multi-Edit' button in the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar

This will open the 'Multi-Edit' window.

Step 2: Choose 'Saved View Manager' from the drop-down menu

This will display the ‘Saved View Manager’ tab which contains a list of all structures in your model along with an icon indicating the status of their respective saved view.

These statuses can be:

  • Up to date - There is an up to date saved view for this structure. The saved view was updated since the structure was built or last rebuilt.
  • Out of date - A saved view exists for this structure, but it is out of date, meaning the position or components of the structure have since been changed. In some instances, if a structure has been repositioned, it might be clipped out of the current saved view.
  • Uncreated - There is no saved view for this structure yet.

Step 3: Select the views you wish to create or update

You can do this by scrolling in the list and checking the boxes manually, using the locate button to click directly on the structure, or using the search bar to find the structure and then checking the boxes.

Alternatively you can update all out of date or uncreated saved views by clicking the button with the yellow and blue icons as demonstrated below.

Top tip: You can also click ‘All’ or ‘None’ icons to select and unselect all saved views respectively.

Step 4: Click ‘Update Saved Views’

The window will close and all selected views are now created and up to date.
